Enrol Now for Year 7 2026

Music

Bunbury Catholic College has a proud history of producing music excellence. This is made possible by providing instrumental music lessons, quality classroom music programs and ensemble opportunities to our students.

Instrumental Music lessons

Music lessons are a wonderful opportunity for all students to enhance their education. Lessons are available on all instruments from trumpet to violin, drums to singing. Learning a musical instrument is proven to be one of the greatest methods for developing a young person’s creativity, fine motor skills and intelligence. And let’s not forget that music is a great social activity, and its lots of fun!

Our music program offers shared and private lessons during the school day operating on a rotating timetable, thus limiting disruptions to daily class learning. There are also some instruments available for hire.

Music Scholarships

Bunbury Catholic College offers an annual scholarship opportunity for gifted and talented music students entering Year 7. The scholarship aims to develop talented students who may have had limited music tuition opportunities.

Lower School and WACE Courses

Bunbury Catholic College offers Music as an elective in lower school and also as an ATAR and Certificate subject in upper school. The subject covers all aspects of music, from theory and historical context, to composing and performing. All students are welcome to take Music as a subject, and the earlier students start, the further even beginners can achieve in music for upper school/WACE.

Music Ensembles

Choir

The Bunbury Catholic College Choir has had great success performing at events such as the Catholic Performing Arts Festival, the Bunbury Eisteddfod, the dedication of St Patrick’s Cathedral and even embarked on tours to China and New Zealand.

All students are welcome to join the Choir (members are not auditioned) and it is a great opportunity to learn more about music and learn about singing as a group.

Guitar Ensemble

Our Guitar Ensemble (Contemporary and Jazz) caters for the large number of guitarists, both experienced and beginners. Guitar Ensemble offers a chance for all guitar students to further their skills by participating in ensemble work.

Percussion Ensemble

The Percussion Ensemble is a group consisting of students who learn drums and percussion at Bunbury Catholic College. The Percussion Ensemble explores rhythms on both tuned and un-tuned instruments.

Rock Tech
