David who graduated from BCC in 1989, has been busy. He is Chairman of Atlas Iron Limited, having previously been Managing Director of this company which he started in 2004 after completing a Bachelor of Science at the WA School of Mines in Kalgoorlie. In 2010 he was named Ernst and Young’s Australian entrepreneur of the Year for listed Companies. He is Currently the Chancellor of Murdoch University and a Director of the Mining Hall of Fame to name just a few of his commitments.
In 2011 he was awarded the inaugural Governor’s Award for Giving. He is an Eisenhower Fellow, having completed the Eisenhower Fellowship which selects only 50 leaders globally to attend an intensive leadership program in the United States, focusing on philanthropy, indigenous enterprise and community connection in 2013. He is this year’s Western Australian of the Year.
